High-Tc Superconductors and Related Materials: Materials Science, Fundamental Properties, and Some Future Electronic Applications (NATO Science Partnership Sub-Series: 3:) - Product Description
A broad introduction to high Tc superconductors, their parent compounds and related novel materials, covering both fundamental questions of modern solid state physics (such as correlation effects, fluctuations, unconventional symmetry of superconducting order parameter) and applied problems related to short coherence length, grain boundaries and thin films. The information that can be derived from electron spectroscopy and optical measurements is illustrated and explained in detail. Descriptions widely employ the clear, relatively simple, phenomenological Ginzburg-Landau model of complex phenomena, such as vortex physics, vortex charge determination, plasmons in superconductors, Cooper pair mass, and wetting of surfaces. The first comprehensive reviews of several novel classes of materials are presented, including borocarbides and chain cuprates.

From the supplier: Research done by A. Schallamach on rubber wear lead to the development of modern wear models for determining pattern formation and fatigue crack growth. A wear test is described using a modified blade abrader making contact with a rotating rubber wheel. Four rubber tread compounds were used and the test determined that the direction that the crack propagates is determined by the mechanical properties of the rubber, the machine parameters and the test conditions.

Premium Stretch Mark Cream 1.7 oz/50ml (Professionally Formulated) w/ Natural Soothing Vitamins, Botanical Extracts, Skin Tightening Properties, and Collagen Building Peptide Agents. - Product Description
As part of Excel skin care's advanced product line, we have now developed a revolutionary new formula, specifically designed to prevent and reduce the appearance of stretch marks caused by pregnancy, weight gain, aging, growth spurts, and bodybuilding. Our cream will greatly enhance the elasticity, reducing the appearance of existing stretch marks and further preventing new stretch mark scarring to occur. Every person is unique in skin type and growth rate, causing some to suffer from stretch marks more severely than others. Stretch Marks, technically known as striae distensae can range from small lines of demarcation to much larger discolorations and even indentations. Stretch marks are caused mostly by irregularities in the collagen matrix. They occur when the elastic fibers which bind the skin (elastin & collagen) are overstressed, resulting in small tears in the form of stretch marks. Stretch marks are in essence scars, which is why they are extremely difficult to remove completely, so prevention is key! Excel's premium stretch mark cream uses a wide range of high purity ingredients composed of peptides, antioxidants, and natural extracts such as vitamin E, vitamin A, vitamin C, grape fruit seed extracts, patented peptides Matrixyl 3000, Darutoside, skin tightening agents, and natural soothing cocoa butter. These unique combination of ingredients work synergistically to reduce the appearance of stretch mark tissue and discoloration associated with the scarring by increasing the elasticity and stimulating the production of new skin cells. The product is safe to use on a daily basis, and also works as a great moisturizer. Once applied, the cream will begin to work immediately as it contains penetration enhancers to ensure proper delivery of important ingredients as well as natural preservatives to protect the effectiveness.

- Premium Stretch Mark Cream - 1.7oz/50ml - Advanced Scar and Stretch Mark healing technology with DarutosideTM and Matrixyl® 3000.
- Developed as an anti-wrinkle solution, Matrixyl 3000 has a unique lifting effect and restores and maintains a youthful, firming efficacy - incredibly effective for cutaneous reconstruction and repair of the dermal matrix - or put simply, it helps smooth wrinkles, but physiologically helps repair connective tissue and promotes healthy cell proliferation - key benefits for removal and prevention of stretch marks.
- Excel skin care's advanced formula is specifically designed to reduce the appearance of stretch marks caused by pregnancy, weight gain, growth spurts, and bodybuilding. Our cream will greatly enhance the elasticity of the skin preventing new stretch mark scarring to occur. Excel uses a wide range of high performance ingredients composed of peptides, antioxidants, and natural extracts which work synergistically to reduce the appearance of deep stretch mark tissue and discoloration associated with the scarring.
- Darutoside is the name for the active ingredient obtained from the herb Siegesbeckia orientalis. This herb has been used for centuries externally to sooth inflammation and stimulate wound healing, which it does through tissue regeneration by way of collagen matrix build up. A now expired patent by Pierre Fabre Medicaments describes Darutoside's ability to stimulate wound healing, to promote more regular tissue renewal, to increase the normal appearance of scars and to fully restore elasticity to damaged skin with collagen fibers arranged in regular fashion. Darutoside enriched total extracts of Siegesbeckia orientalis have shown anti-inflammatory properties, inhibition of collagenase and protection from UV induced erythema. This initial research led to an investigation of Darutoside's ability to restructure stretch marks. Stretch marks are caused by abnormal stretching of the dermis (pregnancy, change in weight), from a linear scar or from some endocrine disorders. In each case the stretch mark affects the elastin fibers in the middle dermis, which are diminished or disappear. Any effective treatment for stretch marks thus must restore normal quantities of collagen and elastin fibers.
- The effects shown in a four-week clinical study where a crème containing 1.5% of Darutoside was applied by volunteers twice daily are listed below. Results Length of Streaks -- Reduced 52.15% Surface Smoothness -- Increased 13.7% Indented Surfaces -- Reduced 55.4% Length of Irregularities -- Reduced 52.2%. These results correspond to restructuring of the tissue. At the end of treatment the surface of the skin was more regular in appearance and the global profile was more uniform with stretch marks tending to fade. These results show Darutoside to possess exciting characteristics for the treatment of stretch marks. In addition, Darutoside is shown to possess excellent tolerance and non-toxicity.
